## Past Months Report

While the ship overview always shows a single month, this report puts **several months side by
side** for one vessel - useful for spotting a trend in consumption across a period.

1. Open **Lube Oil Reports**.
2. On the ribbon tab **General**, click **Reports → Past Months Report**.
3. In the dialog **Lube Oil - Past Months Report**, choose the **Ship**, then set the period
   with **From** (month and **Year**) and **To** (month and **Year**).
4. Click **Load**.

The report appears in the lower part of the dialog. **Share** passes it on in the usual way,
for example by e-mail.

## Export to Excel

The view you are currently looking at - bunkering, consumption or the detail of a single oil
type - can be exported as it is shown.

**Lube Oil Reports → ribbon tab General → Export to Excel**

The export always follows the current view, so filter or select what you need first, then
export.

## Managing the oil types

The list of lube oil types is maintained per installation.

**Lube Oil Reports → ribbon tab General → Configuration → Lube Oil Types**

Button | What it does {class="compact"}
---|---
New | Adds a new lube oil type.
Rename | Renames the selected type.
Delete | Removes the selected type.
Active/Inactive | Switches a type off without deleting it. An inactive type stays on existing records but is no longer offered for new entries.

Prefer **Active/Inactive** over **Delete** for a type that is no longer purchased - that keeps
the history of past bunkerings and consumption readable.

## General configuration

**Lube Oil Reports → ribbon tab General → Configuration → Configuration General**

The dialog opens in read-only mode. Click **Edit** to change something, then **Save**.

Setting | What it does {class="compact"}
---|---
send e-mail to laboratory | Switches on sending the sample request to the laboratory by e-mail.
Laboratory - **Assign** / **Clear** | Selects which contact is used as the laboratory, or removes the assignment again.
Office approval only required for failed analyses | Limits the office approval step to analyses with the result **Failed**. See [Analysis](Analysis.md).

!!! Why a colleague sees a different workflow
The setting **Office approval only required for failed analyses** is the usual reason why the
approval step appears at one customer and not at another, or why a passed analysis closes
immediately in one installation and waits for the office in the next.
