The Currency Converter is a simple function for converting currency values. The conversion is done based on the currently known exchange rates and will be provided only for currencies that have been defined as "Active" (see Administrator | [Currencies and Exchange Rates](/Administration/Configuration/Global.md#currencies-and-exchange-rates) for more details).

For each conversion the Currency Converter shows the status information when the exchange rate was updated. You may want to update the exchange rates first before using the converter - this can be done by using the `Update Exchange Rates` function.

It can be found in the lower left corner of the applications main window.

## Updating Exchange Rates

This function tries to update the exchange rates for all currencies in the database that have been set to "Active" by retrieving the newest updates from an online service. 

## Automatic Exchange Rate Updates

An automatic update of exchange rates can be triggered via the Windows Task Scheduler. Create a task that runs the `ZeeBORN.exe` in `%zeebornclient%` and pass the parameter `-xrateupdate`.
