Getting Started
Using the Planned Maintenance module requires some preparation before you will be able to use the module for your everyday work. You will need to define a list of job codes describing the single maintenance tasks, define responsibilities used for assigning maintenance jobs to qualified personnel, collect the components to be maintained and defined the single maintenance jobs to be regularly executed for each component. You can start either from scratch but you can also migrate existing data from already existing systems or document files (please contact ZeeBORN support for more details).
All tasks described here affect only the currently selected ship. Due to the minor and major differences between each ship, each ship's maintenance requirements will be defined individually. If you want to apply changes to a wider range of ships, you can use the Data Administration tool to roll out changed and new data to other ships as well.

Job Codes
The list of job codes is a central collection for maintenance tasks that includes optional job descriptions and references to relevant documents in the Documents module. Job codes will be used later on for creating maintenance jobs for individual components and linking those jobs to additional documents and resources available in the system.

Responsibilities
The list of Responsibilities defines a list of human resources available for executing maintenance tasks. The list can contain a list of ranks or individual crew members - depending on your preferred way of assigning a maintenance job to qualified personnel. The list will be used later on in the planning process for extracting relevant maintenance tasks from the maintenance schedules list by choosing only the responsibilities you want to see in the related lists and reports.
