Drugs & Alcohol

Request Test

To request an internal test by the office hit the button "Request".

In the next form select all ships/sites and all roles for which the test is to be performed and enter a test date.

The requested test will appear in the folder open. In the office they will appear with the prefix OOB - that means, that they are not editable in the office as long as they are not approved on board. On board the tests are available after the next data transfer and immediately editable.

Edit Test

Hit the button "Edit/Report Test" and enter the requested information. You can either select a port from a given list or enter a port which is not available in ports list.

Add/edit donors

To add or edit a donor please hit the button "Add/edit donor". Please note: if the test is requested only the requested ranks are available. If the test is an external test, all ranks are available.

Please select the corresponding rank, enter name of the crew member and the result. If the result is negative, the value is automatically 0 and will be disabled.

When all requested ranks are filled in, the test report can be approved on board. If not all ranks can be tested, you have to fill in an approval remark.

Additional Test

An additional, not requested test can be entered. The Report layout is the same like report requested test. Hit “Report Additional” and fill in all fields. For field Rank all ranks will be visible. Follow the instruction from Edit Test.

External Test

Hit “Report External” and select correct Collection Date, fill in field for Port (select port- list of predefined ports; enter port- a free text field), the number of Samples and result. Optionally remarks can be inserted or attachments added.

Configuration

The module has its own configuration area, where you decide how strictly the program handles positive test results.

Drugs & Alcohol → Configuration → Module Configuration

The dialog Drugs and Alcohol - Configuration opens in read-only mode. Click Edit, tick the options you want to enforce, then Save.

Option What it does
Attachments mandatory on positive result A test report with a positive overall result cannot be saved without at least one attached file - for example the scanned laboratory report. The message "Attachments are mandatory for positive test results." appears and the report stays open so the file can be attached. This also applies to external tests.
Value mandatory on positive result Every person whose individual result is positive must have a measured value entered. If a value is missing, saving is blocked until it has been filled in.

Both options are off by default, and they are independent of each other - you can switch on either one or both. Tests with a negative overall result are not affected; the checks only apply to positive results.

The configuration applies to the whole installation, not per user.
