Show History
Most records keep a history of what happened to them. Show History opens it — the entry sits in the ribbon or under More Actions, depending on the module.
What is recorded
Every change to the record, with who made it, when, and what was changed — for many fields with the old and the new value side by side. Status changes are recorded as well, so it stays visible when a record was approved, rejected or reopened, and by whom.
Entries appear newest first.
Adding a remark
A comment can be written into the history, and it appears there with your name and the time. This is the place for the reason behind a decision — why an exception was accepted, why a date was moved — so that it stays with the record instead of living in somebody's mailbox.
Why the history cannot be edited
Entries are not editable and not deletable, deliberately: a history that can be tidied up afterwards is worthless as evidence. This matters for audits and inspections, where the record has to show what actually happened.
If something was recorded wrongly, the way to deal with it is a remark that corrects it, not a deletion.
What you will see there
Actions carried out by the system are also recorded, and read as if nobody did them — a document attached automatically on approval, or a notification that went out. That is normal. Where a change reached this installation through the data transfer, the history shows the user and the vessel it originally came from, not whoever ran the transfer.
