Insurance
The insurance configuration is reached in the Insurance module under Configuration. It decides which insurance types exist, what is recorded for each of them, and how cases are classified.
Insurance Groups
Groups are a way of keeping the insurance types in order once there are many of them. They are freely chosen.
Insurances
The insurance types that are to be used later have to be set up first. Each needs a unique name and a unique Short — the abbreviation is used afterwards in the TAN of the effected insurances, so it is worth choosing it carefully.
The options decide what is recorded and shown for insurances of this type:
Further options follow the same pattern and decide whether the matching field appears on the insurance: Show Container and BL No., Show Disbursement, Show Max. Indemnity and Third Party Liability.
How the annual premium is calculated
The Show LoH Rate pa option decides which of two calculations applies:
This is not only a display setting — it changes the figure the system calculates.
required Insurances per Ship
Holds which insurances a vessel is required to have. Reports evaluate this, and it is what makes the system able to report a missing or expiring insurance instead of leaving it to be noticed by chance.
Case Category
The categories a case is classified by — Grounding, for example.
Root Causes & Analysis
Root causes and their categories. The categories come first: when a case is recorded, choosing a category narrows the root causes offered to the ones assigned to it.
Effected Insurance Status
The names of the statuses and the colour each one is shown in. The colour carries through to the icons in the tree.
Ranks
The job names used in the system.
Positions
Which positions are managed, and which fields are shown for each of them — port, latitude and longitude, or a combination. This is what decides which fields appear when the position of an incident is recorded on a case.
Assign my Ships
Preselects the vessels you normally work with, so they do not have to be picked again every time. See Select my Ships.
