Search

Every module has a search for finding a record without clicking through folders. It sits under More Actions, and the shortcut F3 opens it from anywhere in the module.

What can be searched

Three ways, depending on what you know:

  • By name — the title of the record. A fragment is enough, the whole name is not needed.
  • By number — the transaction number of a document, or the number of an item.
  • Full text — searches the descriptions as well, not only the titles. This is the one to use when you remember what a record was about but not what it was called.

Confirming a result takes you to the record in the folder it actually sits in — so the search doubles as a way of finding out where something was filed.

When a search finds nothing

Before concluding that the record is gone, check the two usual causes:

  • The search covers the module you are in, not the whole system. A finding raised in an inspection is not found from the purchasing module.
  • The record belongs to a vessel that is not selected, or to one you have no access to. On board, only that vessel's own records exist in the first place.

A record created in the office and not yet transferred to the vessel — or the other way round — cannot be found on the other side until the data transfer has run.
